Vogue Magazine Covers
Dear Diva Readers,
f you know me at all, you know I love all things glamorous! This includes gorgeous antiques, classic interiors, decadent food, bubbly champagne and, of course, chic fashion. The September issue of Vogue is traditionally the biggest, most important issue of the year, often being 800+ pages of pure unadulterated bliss.
Just like with Hermes scarves being used as art as well as fashion…I don’t just recommend reading Vogue magazine – I recommend decorating with them! Frame Vogue magazine covers to make fashionable art perfect for your inner diva. Of course you can purchase them already framed, but for me that takes all the fun out of it!! I like to dig through piles of vintage magazines at the Puce de Paris and then frame them myself!
When you frame vintage Vogue magazine covers with a wide white mat, they become works of art in themselves. Hang them gallery style for a curated look. Line a hallway with row after row of framed covers hung just a couple of inches apart and you’ll have transformed a pass-through into an interesting archive of fashion throughout the decades. For a more eclectic feel, hand them at random, interspersing other artwork of different mediums and sizes with them.
I love what designer Charlotte Moss did in her powder room at her winter house. She framed vintage Vogue covers from the winter months and hung them over a beautiful green striped wallpaper, proving that these often mod-looking covers can fit into a very traditional setting as well.
However you choose to inject these iconic images into your home, have fun with it! By surrounding yourself with these beautiful Vogue covers, you’ll always be fashionable!
Until next time,
The Antiques Diva®
