top:2px;padding-right:5px;font-family:times;”>I want to introduce you to one of my favorite shops in The Netherlands – Cachot, a charming antique shop located in the heart of The Hague. Just around the corner from the main antiques drag in Den Haag – the Denneweg – Cachot is located on the Maliestraat in a historic Rijksmonument building dating back from 1670. A trip to the store is as much a treat for the treasures contained within the building as it is for a chance to delve deep into this landmark building. The proprietors Frans and Nellie Rovers have thought of everything, making this shop absolutely charming, decorating the store as if it’s the setting for a soon-to-be fete whilst stocking an inventory that has clients traveling into The Hague from far and away to see their diva-worthy collection.

And while their inventory runs the gamut from empire dishes to ostrich eggs, their specialty is antique French mirrors from the period 1850 – 1910. No matter when you visit Cachot, you’ll always find a plethora of antique mirrors in a variety of sizes and finishes from various periods.

  • I'm in love–a real antiques store. Here in Southern Cal., traditional antiques aren't selling; so I miss the shopping for elegant pieces. Thanks for the photos.

  • Everything I love in one place –antiques, MIRRORS, and in an ancient and beautiful building! What am I still doing in the States?!
    Happy weekend dear Toma.
