Greetings Diva Readers –

top:2px;padding-right:5px;font-family:times;”>A stack of invitations to art and antique shows have accumulated on my desk so I’m taking a diva-minute to share with you the latest Dutch Dates in this Last Minute Diva!

Kunst & Antiek Weekend Naarden-Vesting
Long-term Diva Readers have heard me wax poetically about this fair before so I’ll let you browse past entries to get the gist of this event, but suffice it to say I love this fair held in the charming Dutch village of Naarden-Vesting. I’m going tomorrow in search of a “Farewell to Holland” present for my upcoming move to Germany. Among favorite exhibitors at the fair will be Robert Schreuder and Dolf D Van Omme.

  • Hi Victorian Cobweb –
That is indeed Corry Kooy! I love her wonderful pastels! WG & I are standing next to 2 paintings we purchased by Itzchak Tarkay – the top a watercolor and the bottom acrylic on paper. An interesting feature in those paintings is that Tarkay always paints the women with the eyes downcast… this is in homage to his mother. He and his mother were in a concentration camp when he was a child… and he remembers all the women with their eyes downcast. Tarkey does amazing work…. so vibrant & intense. I adore his style!

    Dear Anonymous –
What a sweet message to leave! Thank You! I will still lead some of the group tours in Holland & Belgium, but the smaller private tours will be lead by my 2 very reliable (fun, energetic and oh so knowledgeable) Diva Guides – Marlene and Lucretia. In fact, between you & me – I "hired" above me – both my guides know a "heck of a lot" more than I do so they are both great to take tours with!!!

To answer your question about moving… I like to think that I have a "say" in where we move/when… but in reality, indeed we go where my husband's company tells us to go! So far we've been very lucky and in 12 1/2 years of marriage have been in 6 sensational places! I am quite sad to leave Holland, but excited about what's next! Watch Out Berlin – Here I come!!!!

And Merci Beaucoup La Mom for stopping by!! Readers, I'll be adding La Mom as a link on my site…. she is HILARIOUS! I just discovered her site and am already a regular "stalker"! Check out La Mom's site by clicking her "name" above!

    Take Care!
    The Diva

  • I am sorry to hear that you are leaving Holland because I had wanted to go on one of the tours led by you. I wish you all the best. I do have one question- do you choose when you leave a country or is that determined by your husband’s job?

  • Ooh, I love the beautiful beach scene – Corry Kooy? And the colors in the two paintings you and The Wine Guy are standing by are wonderful! Hope you find a wonderful tribute to Holland before your off to Berlin.
