top:2px;padding-right:5px;font-family:times;”>In the small Dutch village of Breukelen, a lady with magic hands dwells in an inconspicuous row house behind a grocery store. I‘d ridden my little red bike past her shop a dozen times and never even noticed she existed until my friend Joanne, owner of the Alfajiri Gallery, mentioned in passing about having an appointment with “the lady with the magic hands”. Her name is Ellen Nijs and she is the owner of Saut en Beauté.
Never in my life have I left a facial so relaxed and so revived. On the best of days, I’ve problem skin and regular facials are imperative for keeping me Diva-photo-shoot ready. I’ve long since accepted that the dreadful extraction phase of an appointment is merely why the mantra “no pain, no gain” was written. But when Ellen puts her warm fingers to work massaging my face & neck she transports me to luxurious cloud # 9. I’m in heaven with cabana boys waving palm frocks over me keeping me cool while Mozart himself tickles the ivory behind me from his cloud # 8 and butterflies swirl around me as if appearing from my very own joyfully singing soul. After my last facial my husband WG came home, took one look and informed me that I positively glowed. From time to time on The Antiques Diva ™ blog, I like to give you tips about things other than antiques, art, shopping or travel. Today’s advice is that a trip to Breukelen to see Holland’s Best Esthetician is a very worth-while detour. Ellen offers a myriad of services beyond “A Facial Fit for a Diva” including waxing, a variety of massages and more.
Until Next Time,
