Recently, while preparing for an Antiques Diva Tour of The Hague and heading for an appointment at The Hotel des Indes with the concierge to discuss our behind-the-scenes Diva Tour of the hotel, my local Diva Guide & I crossed the street and out of the corner of our eyes we caught the word “Decorating” on a store window and went to investigate. Before stepping in the door, we knew we’d stumbled upon something good. After entering this “echelon on chic”, we knew this was better than good, it was great. By happenstance we’d found one of Holland’s best Interior Designers town.nl/den-haag-interior-decorating/” target=”_blank”>Hetty van Moorsel-van der Lande and by luck, The Designer was in residence and she appeared as chic, sophisticated and utterly charming as her designs. Needless to say, my Diva Guide and I instantly changed our plans for the following day’s tour to include a quick stop Chez Hetty to introduce our Diva Clients to “The Best of the Best”.

As she shared pictures from a recent project at The Hague’s own Paleis Hotel (and then gave us a glimpse of her own home on the pages of More than Classic magazine), I knew she was worthy of being crowned a Diva in her own right! This lady has serious diva style! She’s been offering interior decorating advice for more than 20 years, lending her expertise to country houses and personal residences, corporate settings such as banks and offices as well as hotels. Interestingly enough, during our conversation it was discovered that she’d done 2 Vecht-side homes near my former residence in a small village outside Amsterdam. Though I love Hetty’s signature style, something that rang loud and clear as I examined her portfolio was how each project she worked on had its own look and feel. Ms. van Moorsel-van der Lande explained this by saying that she listens to “both the client and the property, letting them guide her as inspiration in each and every project”
