The Antiques Diva™

My younger brother, Nathan – upon hearing of the scads of antiques scored for both clients and myself on my recent Antiques Diva Fall Flea Market Extravaganza – sent me a hand-written note, congratulating me on my recent success along with this clipping from his local newspaper.

The little clipped comic revealed that he knew me and my penchant for scouring the flea markets across Europe a little too well…

On that note, dear Diva Readers, Happy Plundering!

Extra, Extra Read All About It… Parisien Salon & Lonely Planet!

The Antiques Diva is in The News!!!

Women reading newspapers by Bert Hardy, 1957

This week’s blog interview between The Antiques Diva™ & La Mom was so stimulating that the glossy travel planning & destination e-magazine “Parisien Salon” picked it up & posted our Paris Insiders Discussion in an article they titled, Hamming it Up with The Antiques Diva™”.

Visit Parisien Salon to get inside information on what to see, do, buy & eat while in Paris in this e-magazine written by people who don’t just love Paris but who know it like the back of their hands, taking you beyond the landmarks & giving you exclusive entrée to a Paris usually limited only to locals!

And if that’s not enough, Lonely Planet then picked up the “Parisien Salon” posting, adding The Antiques Diva & La Mom’s “Hamming it up in Paris” interview under their heading “Blogs We Like”!!!

Until Next Time, Happy Reading!

Diva-scovery: G. Benevento – Venice, Italy

This Venetian haberdashery opened in 1883, a family business that for the last 100 years has been handed down from father to son over 4 generations. Very few changes have been made – the store still stands on the Strada Nova (a little larger that in was when it began thanks to renovations by the founder’s son during his reign) and it still sells the same great inventory of fabrics, tassels, trims and bows, using the original counter and antique tools to roll out fabric and trims. Long considered an institution in Venice, it’s been awarded several medals for staying in business throughout WWII and is now one of the longest running family businesses in the province. Best of all, the prices are incredibly reasonable, making G. Benevento a must-shop stop on your Venetian travels!
