Fur Stoles make great decorative accessories when draped across the back of chair or along the side of a couch cushion. When I make a purchase I like to ensure that I’m able to use the item in multiple ways to maximize my money spent and to ensure that with small living space that the items I bring into my home truly earn their keep!

For Diva Decorating, try decorating you home this winter with vintage fur stoles!

Dear Diva Readers,

top:2px;padding-right:5px;font-family:times;”>In preparation for to-join-two-special-antiques.html” target=”_blank”>Diva Tours Fall French Flea Market Extravaganza, I wanted to highlight again one of my favorite vendors at tou/foire/jamb.htm” target=”_blank”>La Foire Nationale à la Brocante et aux Jambon. This Paris-suburb flea-market in Chatou is in only a few weeks and the anticipation is driving me crazy – everyone is talking about it! I can almost smell the ham in the air! In this One Minute Diva, I wanted to encourage Diva Readers visiting Chatou this fall to stop by (and shop your heart out) at one of my favorite vendors – Blandine Bavoux’s quintessentially French stall located at 72 Allée Nouvelle.

Armchair travelers, don’t despair! The good news is that you don’t have to go to The National Fair of the Flea Market and Ham to benefit from Blandine’s cute French country kitchen collectibles and antiques. You can either stop by her stall at Chatou or buy online at Jolietrouvaille! Either way, make sure you tell her The Antiques Diva™ sent you! By the way, I happen to know she keeps a stash of cookies and warm tea on a shelf in her stall – it’s reserved for special guests but I’m certain if you linger long enough that she’d indulge you!

One Minute Diva – Spiegelkwartier Open House

top:2px;padding-right:5px;font-family:times;”>Antiquing Diva’s with time on their hands this weekend, September 13 & 14, 2008, should head to Amsterdam for the Spiegelkwartier Open House for a fun weekend full of antiques, free drinks and fun, plus opportunities to chat candidly with the dealers.

The antiquairs and galleries show their latest acquisitions and have special exhibitions Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon – 5pm. Jaski Art Gallery at Nieuwe Spiegelstraat 29 will be doing a special exhibition with work of Cole Morgan while the Galerie Lieve Hemel at # 3 is bringing in Paul Pallandt to hammer silver bowls, etc and make excellent decorative creations before your very eyes! Meanwhile, Sculptor Angelo Moyano will be hard at work at tonline.nl/vecht/catalogkeuze.cfm” target=”_blank”>Kunstzalen A. Vecht Nieuwe Spiegelstraat 40. Perhaps one of the more unusal exhibits will be at Thom & Lenny Nelis, Keizersgracht 541, where they are presenting a special exhibit of antique veterinarian objects.

Enjoy!

States — Winetini Hors D’oeuvre Plates.

You take your favorite champagne or wine bottle – perhaps a special bottle from your wedding or anniversary – and have it flattened into a fun & functional tray to serve hors d’oeuvres, cheese or petit fours! This is an excellent gift idea or a great way to make a memento of a special occasion. I’m trying to decide which would be more fun — a Winetini Tray with my Riga’s Finest label (from a bottle purchased while on holiday in Latvia a few years ago) or perhaps that fancy gold Bohemian Champagne label stripped off one of the many bottles we lugged home from the Czech Republic last year?

Whichever bottle I choose, it’s certain to be a conversation starter at my next cocktail party.

Bottoms Up!
