Are you familiar with iReport? In a stunning example of how society is evolving and embracing technology and connectivity, CNN launched a user-driven content initiative two years ago called iReport. News media has always been a top-down channel of relaying information to the general public, but the iReport initiative completely inverts that traditional process.
The beauty of iReport is that CNN has effectively extended their news-gathering capabilities to nearly every corner in the world – all without having to employ an army of reporters. They now have access to intimate and time-sensitive information that they could never otherwise have had.
For example, without iReport, CNN might never have known about the DNN – the Diva News Network! After returning home tonight from a Decorative and Fine Arts Society meeting in The Hague, I sat down to check my emails, only to discover a mail from my friend Suzanne which read “I just saw you on CNN!!!“ To my pleasant surprise, the Diva News Network video on Brussels was selected by CNN to appear on their CNN.com homepage as a primary iReport listing! Visit the site today (who knows how long it will be posted!).
Thanks CNN!!
The Antiques Diva
Toma, I want to let you know the exact adress of the chocolateshop of Pierre Marcolini. It is near the Sablon, which you know better than me, in the Rue des Minimes nr 1. I guess you won’t be long before you actually will be tasting them…now that you’re still within a 2 hours drive. Do you know the Hoogstraat or Rue Haute in Brussels? There is apparantly an interior-decoration shop called Rambagh on nr 64, where you can also by the Mariage Freres stuff. Maybe something worth exploring? Lucretia
Congratulations !!
Enjoyed the report! Nice to see Brussels – haven’t visited for years.
Noelle, you’re right! This could get tricky… 🙂

An email from my parents…
“Jen, isn’t this your friend? It was on CNN’s U.S. home page!”
Very imprissive!!!!!
Bisous,
Jen
Be careful Wine Guy, one day The Diva won’t have any time left to cook a 9 course diner for you… or even only 5 course! What will you do?
Noelle
Yay, the little people DO make a difference!!
This is a huge step for The Antiques Diva! She’s just a natural born reporter about the finer things in life. Also she gives such great publicity for my own country, thanks, Belgium needs the extra income, for economically it is in bad shape. Toma is attracting many extra spenders to Brussels!
Lucretia,

Toma,
Like the ‘Expatman’ said in your iReport reviews: YOU ROCK! Congratulations, CNN next 60 Minutes. You’re an incredible dynamo of creative energy, and have a video presence that’s star quality.
Best of luck with CNN. And try to remember us little people. Ha!
Someday, I’ll tell my grandkids that I knew the “Antiques Diva”. 🙂
KEEP IT UP! You are fantastic.
Kind regards,
Charles
You ROCK! Yippee, Congrats!!!!!! Like one comment on the iReport site said, “watch out Samantha Brown”, here comes the DIVA!!!! Love, Lorrie and Papa Bear!
Brilliant Toma, keep 'em coming. It was so well done and you looked great, the filming was steady (assume that was BJ as cameraman, good job) and topic perfect. Loved how you went from the expensive bags to the cheaper version, everyone loves hotel silverware (I do so assume everyone else does, I collected some gems from the old Eastern & Oriental, a Raffles Hotel closed down, now re-opened in Penang). Clever, punchy, you looked good, nice weather, sharp. Way to go Gal. The beginning of something larger I think so enjoy the moment as the first buzz is the best one.
All the best,
Vee,

WOWWW!! That is so cool! I just forwarded it to some friends because I’m so proud of you. I didn’t get a chance to vote before I saw that you were on! 🙂 Keep it up girlfriend!
